Project Scope
The scope of this project was to move the GSU ROTC program from their previous offices in the Courland Building to new offices in the GSU Stadium as the Courtland building had to be evacuated due to the Courtland Street Bridge project by GDOT. The existing space at the Stadium had a 1,500 gallon grease trap and a storm line catch basin in the middle of the project footprint, so these items had to be dug up and relocated before construction of the ROTC suite could begin. The ROTC suite, as it is located on the Service Level of the stadium had to have a rain screen roof system built over the suite, complete with a drainage system for the water that drains through the precast concrete bleachers. The suite is approximately 11,600 square feet that provide; faculty offices, conference room, a forty (40) student classroom and a fifty (50) student classroom, a twelve (12) seat computer training room, a student break area, locker rooms and a large storage room to house all of the ROTC programs uniforms and training equipment, along with various other support rooms.
